34, suffe...I am your twin in your life experiences.
34, suffered from genetic acne since I was 17. It only stops when my heart stops Iwas told by a derm .

Leaving scars, I was sensitive about my face and went and did the stupidest thing if my life- laser treatments. Long story short I wasn't told about side effects.

Permanent scarring from laser covering every inch of my face. I have skin that looks worse than my 67 year old mother.

If interested google laser damage.. I now miss my skin as it was before , acne scars and all. I'm prisoner of my own face , I too feel embarrased to be seen with beautiful products. I am embarrassed looking at mirror when normal looking women are there so I don't.

I have hard time even looking in to mirror at home and it stops my heart every time seeing my burned microwaved face. Five years now I have lived in hell.

My acne did things to my psyche before laser damage of course, I had very nasty and Angry from of cystic acne and nothing worked, dermatologists were useless.

I was called a witch. I was berated in full pub by one man for being ugly and disgusting and entire pub were just silent. No one stepoed in to help. He berated me good two minutes.

I have had strangers walk past me and check if I am aware of how my skin looks.

People give endless and useless and patronisibg advice on drinking water , taking vitamins. Because their one zit a month has now reduced to no zits.

Oh gee, ive had this since I was 17, ive spents tens of thousands on meds, derm appointments and scoured Internet but gee thanks, I should just drink water.. didn't try that..

Acne is awful and I still have it but scarring is worst thing to happen to your face.

Im bitter as hell for losing my best years to my awful skin and now I'm suffering hundred times more after my worst nightmare became through and my face was scarred beyond anything by a doctor who lied to me about safety.

Im cursed and im bitter and all I want is my face back. Screw god ill happily sell my soul to Satan to get my face back.

I'm heartbroken there are people like us in this world. I do not understand your point? That is public knowledge and I do not hide from that fact. Also, I am well aware how taxes work and all off that info is at the ready for when we get our taxes done next month. So don't worry your dear heart.

You're griping about the $1.05 Alpaca print socks from Target (fluffy? LOL) that my mom bought me? Sorry if you don't understand the concept of bartering or the concept of gifts.

Donations to the liberal website? Which donation do you want to bitch about? The $2.00 I donated in 2012 or the $1.00 I donated in 2013? Adorbs. Totes adorbs.

I honestly get the need to find fault. There's a lot of shady stuff that goes on over the internet. I, myself, have been a victim and it hits your sense of trust. It's hard to deal with. You just happen to be dead wrong when it comes to me. I don't think you will accept that, though. We were like a week away from being homeless so we did what we needed to. Do people not realize if you sell most of your possessions eventually you will have to replace them? I could sell almost everything I own and make due for a short while but eventually its going to have to be replaced. Think of this I sell my possessions out of desperation I'm not going to get anywhere near what its going to cost me to replace them. Thrifty or not. Sometimes selling stuff off is not the answer and people who have enough just don't get that. Yeah Atlas she can sell her Ikea plates for a quarter a pop then have to go back to Target or Ikea when the cost and waste of paper plates is too much. We also all know that a bookshelf full of used books is so valuable or a bed full of used linens is so valuable. If shes lucky and sold everything pictured including her journal which she has written in she would be lucky to collect $45. So she will have no bed, no pillows, no blankets, no dishes, and sell her journey for that. Yeah you have no clue what it means to be poor do you. This is not a family who is sitting on a pile of marketable antiques and assets.

The plates you seem to think are a clear pot of saleable gold? Maybe have a resale value of $2-5. Maybe. That's if you can find a buyer. And then what, pray tell, would you have this family eat off of? What would be "poor enough"? Same with whatever else caught your beady eye.

Poor people have stuff too. Some things are gifts. Some are thrifted. Some are others' discards. Some are left over from an easier, more stable time. And none of them make poverty easier, or less crushing, or less valid. I have first hand observations and information about this family's struggles, unlike you.

As for you, and "everyone" who is "on to" my friend, maybe take your small, suspicious, ugly souls and do something worthwhile to help others, instead of vomiting up vitriol that is based solely on half assed assumptions and classism.Coco Rogershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04641260892350180347noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1936244980142483230.post-56172475825734236702014-12-28T16:58:51.104-05:002014-12-28T16:58:51.104-05:00Hey Atlas. You don't seem to understand how poverty works, do you. You know that poor people are allowed to own possessions, correct? You understand that we are actually allowed to keep possessions that we had for years prior to becoming poor, correct? Of course, you must be one of those people who think poor people must sell all of their things in order to be worthy. I'd explain it all to you, but you are not worthy and people like you make up your minds and refuse to learn. I pity you.

Oh, and I wouldn't keep your comment hidden. I have zero to hide. (like your needless birth tear and additional, painful shabby treatment by "professionals")

The medical profession has a nasty history of treating women like cattle who provide babies. The lying on your back position was started by a French king (can't remember which) who had a fetish for watching women give birth in a type of bondage and laying in elevated beds because male priests (the only physicians after all the midwives were killed for sinning by alleviating supposedly God-given human suffering, no joke) didn't want the hassle of sitting in a chair or helping women birth in more natural positions. Basically it was "sexier" and more convenient to have women give birth in ways that made it harder, dangerous, and traumatizing for mother and child. The excuse for all the bad behavior (and much of it that they still do today) was we are made to give birth so if we die doing it then it was just gods will. Not exactly biblical nor compassionate, but hey they went with guilt and lies to get away with murder (often literally). From your story, it sounds like they still use the same tactics to pressure us into less than human healthcare.

I'm sorry you were treated with so little dignity and human kindness during your birth. We aren't just vessels. The mother is a human being with life too. Like you said, if they create all these unnecessary problems(PPD, PTSD, etc) how will the mother be fit to raise her own children that these same people who use guilt filled phrases usually say is her responsibility alone. They want to treat people as they please and then avoid seeing the problems from the bad treatment by shutting us up. If no-one can hear our pain, then in their minds our suffering must not have happened and they are innocent of all fault.

Time to start speaking mommas! This type of treatment shouldn't be normal and accepted. Science has supported natural birth as best for everyone for a long long time. Time to make birthing healthy and family friendly ;)Meghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01702402276167625517noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1936244980142483230.post-4556724030409182432014-09-07T20:18:48.600-04:002014-09-07T20:18:48.600-04:00This comment has been hidden from the blog.Funky Little Earthchildhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18426546990920691174noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1936244980142483230.post-39785700205131983712014-08-26T06:01:03.647-04:002014-08-26T06:01:03.647-04:00This comment has been hidden from the blog.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10802914566378644314noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1936244980142483230.post-56330961660566450352014-07-03T14:18:03.209-04:002014-07-03T14:18:03.209-04:00Yep, that's me.
